I loved professor ___'s talk last year but she isn't listed on this year's schedule. Why?

The speakers and topics at Humanities Day change from year to year because of new research projects and the personal and professional schedules of each presenter. Someone who spoke last year might be busy this fall, but look for them at a future Humanities Day!

Where will the presentations be held?

Each presentation's location is listed online and in your Humanities Day confirmation email. Visit our Locations and Transportation page to view a map of each location. If you have any questions on the day of the event, please stop by Humanities Day Headquarters in Stuart Hall, on the Harper Quadrangle, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Are there tickets for this event? Do I need to show my confirmation email?

There are no printed tickets for Humanities Day presentations. A staff member with a list of registered participants will be at each location.

Where can I park?

There is a parking garage and ample street parking in the area. See our Locations and Transportation page for more information.

Can I take public transportation to the UChicago campus?

There are several options for public transportation to the UChicago campus. See our Locations and Transportation page for more information.

Where can I eat lunch during Humanities Day?

We provide Humanities Day attendees with two hours for lunch--from noon to 2 p.m. We recommend restaurants close to campus.

What does it mean when registration for a presentation is closed?

Room sizes at UChicago vary widely and some presentations may reach registration capacity. If you wish to see a presentation that is no longer open for registration, email us at humanities@uchicago.edu to be put on a waitlist.

Alternately, on the day of the event you can visit the location for your session and check in with our staff. They may be able to seat you if space becomes available.

What if I need special assistance to attend the presentations?

We encourage persons with disabilities who need special assistance to attend to contact us in advance at 773.702.7423 or humanities@uchicago.edu.

What about on-campus accessibility?

Please refer to this UChicago campus map that shows accessibility routes.

Is there on-campus transportation for individuals?

We have UChicago shuttles #171 and #172, but cannot provide individual transportation. Please plan accordingly.
